There are more than a million public libraries in Louisiana.
Louisiana has one of the highest per capita populations in the U.S. and its population is expected to grow by nearly 40% by 2045.
With so many people living in the state, public libraries can be a convenient way to get their local news, entertainment and more.
Libraries serve nearly 10 million residents, more than any other state, according to the Louisiana Public Library Association.
The state has an estimated 1,700 public libraries, with the majority of them located in the downtown area, according the Association’s website.
They are open seven days a week, seven days per week, and have limited hours.
Libraries can be found at restaurants, bars, parks, libraries and other locations.
